I can guarantee you that car would make more power more efficiently with a bay mounted kit. Putting a turbo in the back doesn't make any sense from an engineering standpoint or physics standpoint. If you are going to do a turbo kit, do it right. 560rwhp is great and dandy, but I'd like to see when he hits boost and what his tq curve looks like. STS kits are known to be much more lazy than engine mounted kits even with smaller turbos. Sure you can make 9000hp and have a powerband 100rpm long with an STS kit, but that doesn't make it badass whatsoever. STS will make less power than an equivalent engine mounted setup EVERY TIME. STS makes some bad ass turbo kits for the LS1's. If your going to call me out, Mke sure you have all your shit right. When it all comes down to it in the end, the main difference between single and twins is cost. Any decent bay mounted setup is far superior to any STS setup. Finally, you have to run a smaller turbine size to make up for the less energetic (cooler) air which in the end means you can't run as much horsepower. STS setups definitely do not come with an intercooler. An intercooler is a necessity for any 'decent' turbo setup. The turbo in the back is also in a great place to get jacked off the car. Then you have 5 miles of piping to go through until the air gets to/from the turbo which increases lag. By the time the air hits the turbo, it's much cooler than it was when it exited the combustion chamber. That is hands down the least efficient setup of all time. That's greatly dependent on the setup if you are running forward sweeping headers etc.ħth. Sometimes you can find a little more room for two smaller turbos than a single large one. It's hard as hell to stick anything extra in the engine bay. (Sizing really is EVERYTHING with a turbo)Ħth. If anything, the twins will be more efficient. Single turbos are not necessarily more efficient. Whether you are going twins or single means very little in that respect.ĥth. Turbo setups require a ton of maintenance and know-how. There are many single setups making more power than twin setups while spooling up nearly as quickly. A properly sized single won't necessarily take longer to make power. With twins you don't 'necessarily' need 2x as many parts, it's really more like 1.5 times.just with two turbos. (The Intense v6 firebird traps ~150mph on twins.if that isn't power up top, I dunno what is)Ģnd.
